Mathew Gillis Hall
There are many reasons why I create art. For me, art making is an escape. Painting in my studio gives me a way to reflect- on people, places and experiences. Whether it is a portrait of my ailing grandmother or an old vacant factory in my hometown, i draw from the history. To me, the finished work is a reminder of why I am the person that I am today.
